A virtual conference by the African Diaspora for the African Diaspora and those interested in Africa
Under the motto “Africa is everywhere”, aXd LiVE creates a virtual space that specifically deals with the role of the African diaspora and sustainable cooperation with the African start-up ecosystem.

As part of the one-day virtual conference, exciting speakers in various formats will address the questions of why working with the African start-up ecosystem is attractive and important. The opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurship in African countries are also examined from different perspectives. Finally, best practices are used to explain how participation can look like in concrete terms. In addition to interactive speeches, the digital event platform ‘Hopin’ used for the conference also offers the possibility of networking and visiting virtual stands where programs and organizations are presented.

aXd – be the connector
After the successful pilot project “aXd Fellow Program” in early 2020, in which 5 fellows worked with local start-ups in Accra for four weeks, the virtual conference on
March 26, 2021 the next step of the Afro German Academics Network (ADAN e.V.). Because even if travel is currently difficult, it is a major concern of the association to promote networking with the start-up ecosystem of African countries, to increase the visibility of black people and to enable mutual empowerment.
The conference will also be advertised on the African continent with the strategic media partner “Business Insider Africa”, because thanks to the digital format, interested parties can take part in aXd LiVE from all over the world.
“The conference will encourage participants to exchange ideas through inspiring lectures. The aim is to show different stakeholders potential partnerships and synergies around Africa-related entrepreneurship and investment, which offers the opportunity to strengthen the African continent,” says Victor Oluwole, Head & Editor of Business Insider Africa.
aXd is an ADAN platform that pursues the goal of the association to present Africa as a continent of opportunity in order to promote a sustainable bridge between Africa and Europe. Insights into the topic of entrepreneurship in the African context are offered and potentials and challenges are pointed out. This enables and promotes economic and cultural exchange and cooperation at eye level and actively helps to shape the European narrative of the African continent and its 54 countries.
